Our Hearts Were Burning: Hearing God Through Our Desires - Access this online, on-demand individual retreat Nov. 6 - Dec. 18, 2023

What are the deepest desires of your heart? This online, on-demand individual retreat will explore the radical notion that God dwells within our deep desires and speaks to us through them. Christian spirituality has often quashed this question and presumed that we must suppress our own desires to follow God. This retreat will explore the radical notion that God dwells within our deep desires and speaks to us through them.

You will be invited into the sacred space of exploring your desires in conversation with Jesus. You will learn a process for discerning which desires are most authentic and trustworthy—that is, which ones lead you closer to God and which lead you further away from God. Lastly, there will be ample space for hearing God’s guidance for acting upon your deepest desires. The retreat will be slowly paced, allowing space to simply “be” and rest in God’s love.

EVENT DETAILS:
Registration open through Oct. 31, 2023
Cost: $ 40

HOW THE RETREAT WORKS:

Registration is open through Oct. 31. Once you register, you will be contacted by Christos staff who will enroll you in the online learning module. The recorded, on-demand retreat sessions will be available online Nov. 6 - Dec. 18. This allows you to participate in the retreat whenever your schedule allows.

The retreat consists of three talks/guided meditations of about 20-30 minutes, with space for reflection encouraged in between each.  Ideally, the three talks and reflection periods are perfect as a day retreat in a setting of your choosing, such as a retreat center or cabin getaway. However, the online format ultimately allows you to space the talks in whatever way suits you, such as over a weekend or multiple days, and in any location.

Online presenter: Paul Krenzelok, Christos Discernment and Outreach Coordinator and one of the coordinators for the Tending the Holy Distance Program. Paul is a spiritual director and coach with an extensive ministry background in adult spiritual formation, campus ministry, and hospital chaplaincy. More about Paul here or at www.soullonging.com
