Join us as we visit historic and sacred sites in this lovely outdoor venue at the beginning of summer.

The title of this pilgrimage is "The In-Betweens." When we started planning for this day, the recurrent theme, "in-between", kept coming up: early June is in-between growing seasions, St. Anthony Park is in-between in its glacial origins, many of us are in-between seasons in our lives. We decided to allow this theme to unfold over the course of the pilgrimage and see where God would bring us.

Pilgrimage (a walking retreat) is a time-honored practice in many faith traditions. Christos offers local pilgrimages that do not require extensive travel or resources. Most pilgrims seek to meet God at a deeper level through the people, places and circumstances encountered during their pilgrimage in ways that one's daily routine might not allow. It is the journey, not the destination, which really matters.

This pilgrimage begins at the Olson Student Center on the campus of Luther Seminary in St. Anthony Park and involves walking through the St. Paul Campus
of the University of Minnesota, as well as the idyllic village of St. Anthony Park. It concludes on the campus of Luther Seminary. Along the way, facilitators will offer perspectives on the practice of pilgrimage, as well as provide background on specific sites of interest. Since this pilgrimage is a collective experience, it is important that participants be able to walk the entire 1.5 mile route and to participate until its completion at 4:00 pm. The pilgrimage will conclude with a time of worship and communion at Luther Seminary. There will be time along the way for individual and collective reflection.
