Greetings Current Participants, Alumni, and Special Friends:
Mid-summer is always a time of respite for the staff here at Christos. We appreciate the slower pace of the work and frequently gaze out our windows to view the myriad shades of green from our wild grasses, trees, and lawn.
I returned last Monday from my six week sabbatical, so the pace of my life has been wonderfully slow. It was a gift to be able to spend my days without the expectation to do, but with the invitation to be. I rested, reflected on my life and my work, and spent quiet time with God. It was through the psalms that God met me and taught me. Words such as reverence, honor, and trust touched me deeply. I experienced profound awe of God, the Creator and Sustainer of my life. My time away taught me the foundational importance of reverence for the Triune God. And, my sabbatical affirmed to me the importance of the mission of Christos Center as proclaimed on the banner that hangs above our stairway: Listen to God in the Silence of Your Heart.
See our Homepage: News and Events sidebar for upcoming events.
May God continue to be present to each of you as this summer unfolds.
