Personal Spiritual Deepening A nine-month spiritual deepening experience based on the Ignatian Exercises. These Exercises offer an invitation to renew and deepen our relationship with God through prayer, meditation and reflection on the life of Jesus. Listening and responding to God is at the heart of spiritual formation. These exercises draw us into an experience with God in the context of our daily lives. Prayer forms are introduced as ways to respond to God's invitation.
Joseph Tetlow's Choosing Christ in the World handbook will be used. Participants will be asked to commit to daily prayer, meditation on the scriptures and journal entries. Each one will be assigned to a small group of 3 or 4 people along with a group facilitator to share experiences. This experience is also offered for distance/online participants: Those choosing this option receive their course materials and presentations via the Internet and regular communication with Christos staff. Distance participants must be comfortable with the Internet and email. I have found that I can trust God to use the Exercises to draw me closer to him, to teach me his values, to challenge my faith and to lead me in making decisions in my life. The sessions will meet every other week on Monday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. September - May at Christos Center. Directions
