Jesus offers us the promise that we can learn to live freely and lightly as we keep company with him. Yet in prayer we might begin to notice that our bodies feel nothing like free and light. Often, we are unaware of how we really are. Join us as we explore and practice simple ways of noticing how we– our heart, soul, mind and strength – might live in relational ease with God and our whole self.
On retreat we will practice and experience various forms of contemplative prayer while learning ways to check in with our bodies and how they are experiencing the prayer. We will find a safe and welcoming space inside of us where we can keep company with whatever bodily feelings, emotions, thoughts or images emerge within. We will practice body grounding and centering. There will be ample time for solitude and silence with space to stroll outdoors taking in the beauty using all of our senses. You might want to bring your journal and favorite writing instrument. Retreat handouts will be provided.
